About Us
Home Hospice Australia was founded by Marin Ivkovic and Glenn Asschert who met whilst they were working together as palliative care nurses. They both saw a need to provide people with the choice of at home palliative care. Marin and Glenn are both passionate about supporting people who wish to remain at home in their final days. Their compassion and empathy drive them to assist others to give their loved one this opportunity also.
Marin’s professional career began in research science. He then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Nursing from Deakin University and post-graduate studies in Palliative Care. Whilst completing clinical placement at a palliative care unit, Marin saw the dedication, compassion and care that the nurses provided to the patients in their final days, driving Marin’s passion to become a palliative care nurse. With over a decade of nursing experience, Marin’s professional nursing career has seen him specialise in aged and acute care, palliative care and most recently working as a palliative care nurse consultant. Marin knew he wanted to provide a service to patients in their final days and make it possible to pass away with dignity in their own home if this was the patient’s wishes.

Palliative Respite Care Services
Home Hospice Australia looks after everyone in your family. We understand how worrying and challenging it is for someone to provide full time care for a loved one, both physically and emotionally. Some carers also have stated that they feel isolated from the world.
At Home Hospice Australia, we offer respite breaks for your carer so that they can go out and have a well-earned break, allowing them to catch up with friends over a coffee or even just to go and have their hair done. Respite breaks can vary from an hour to many hours or days that may be needed, allowing your carer to rest assure that you are being looked after at home.
Our respite service will become a routine part of your palliative care that we provide to you and your carer.
